Call for Visual Art at the Art House Gallery!
Each June, Art House Productions presents ACCESS JC Fridays, focusing on inclusion and accessibility in the arts.
As part of ACCESS JC Fridays on June 2, the Art House Gallery will open a group exhibition entitled, “Comfort Zones,” exploring the liminal space between comfort and motivation.
Who/What keeps you from moving toward completion of your goals? What do your creature comforts, guilty pleasures, or basic comfort zones say about you? What type of work brings you comfort and why? What kind of lifestyle, and why? Perhaps you actively work against being comfortable or it’s difficult for you to feel comfortable. How is this internal feeling reflected in your work?
We are seeking submissions of all mediums from artists identifying as having a disability. This can include, but is not limited to, impairments that are cognitive, developmental, intellectual, mental, physical, and sensory.
ABOUT THE ART HOUSE GALLERY
The Art House Gallery exhibits solo and group shows from local, regional, and international artists. The Gallery hosts a variety of initiatives that engage, celebrate and serve our community and reach beyond our borders to offer unique opportunities for engagement in contemporary art.. We accept and encourage exhibition proposals year-round.
Admission to the gallery and supporting events are always free and open to the public.
Deadline to Submit: Monday, May 15, 2023 by 11:59 pm
Notification: Wednesday, May 17, 2023
Drop off: Sunday, May 21 and then Saturday and Sunday, May 27th & 28th, 1:00pm to 4:00pm
Art House Gallery is located at 345 Marin Blvd (between Bay St. and Morgan) at The Hendrix
Reception: Friday, June 2 for ACCESS JC Fridays, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
End of Show: Sunday, June 25. Pick up will be between 4pm till 7pm.
REQUIREMENTS:
*Send up to three images of your work to gallery@arthouseproductions.org
*All images must be sent as a jpeg, labeled with your name, title, medium, size, and price.
*ALL mediums accepted.
*Size: no wider than 36” in width.
*Commission is 60% to Artist / 40% to Art House.
