Art House Productions is a home for adventurous artists, audiences, and ideas. We engage, inspire, entertain and challenge audiences with ambitious visual and performing arts programs; we provide arts education programs that promote life-long learning to a diverse community; and we celebrate the essential power of the arts to illuminate our common humanity.
Since 2001, Art House has been a pioneering force in the Jersey City Arts movement, supporting artists in the creation and presentation of primarily new work, and encouraging artistic growth and experimentation across all mediums, while fostering a widespread appreciation for the arts in our community. From our theater productions to gallery exhibitions to multi-media art festivals, Art House reminds you that home is where the art is.
The Visual Arts Program at Art House presents work by local, regional, national and international artists and curators. The Visual Arts Programs hosts a variety of initiatives that engage, celebrate and serve our community and reach beyond our borders to offer unique opportunities for engagement in vibrant and expansive conversations about contemporary art.
Our open call exhibitions reach beyond established networks to bring together diverse artists into conversation through thematic investigations. We host and curate exhibitions of individual artists, and small group shows by artists who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their work. Guest curators invigorate the critical dialogue that is essential to lively inquiry and understanding of the arts. We accept and encourage exhibition proposals year-round. Our public programming and the publication of support materials such as catalogues and broadsides complement exhibitions. Collaborative projects with other arts organizations expand, strengthen and sustain connections to wider arts communities and audiences.
