As part of Art House's mission to provide arts education to promote lifelong learning to diverse communities, we offer a variety of programs for all ages in Jersey City, Hudson County, and beyond.

For Students - SAY WORD?! introduces students to public speaking, and give them the tools to feel comfortable speaking in front of an audience and the ability to create original speaking content. Recent programs have taken place at The Ethical Community Charter School (TECCS) in Jersey City and the Summer Fun Program/Jersey City Department of Recreation. For Adults - SAY WORD?! is an interactive public speaking program focused on vulnerability and self-confidence for adults. Possible sessions focus on mask making, trauma informed yoga, public speaking and storytelling, and self-care. Recent programs have taken place at WomenRising.

In 2019, Art House was awarded the VSA Playwright Discovery Program from the Kennedy Center. The program includes a series of playwriting residencies for special needs students in Hudson and Essex Counties who are attending education programs for students with disabilities. The goal of the residency is to teach students how to express themselves through the craft of playwriting while developing writing and theater skills. Instructors act as facilitators and dramaturgs, while students will act as writing partners. Recent residencies have taken place at 1st Cerebral Palsy of New Jersey. This VSA program is provided in 2019-2020 under a contract with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. If you are interested in bringing this program to your school or community center (program must involve students with disabilities under 18), please contact us at
