Managing Producer:

Art House Productions is a performing and visual arts center established in 2001 and located in Jersey City, NJ. Art House is a home for adventurous artists, audiences, and ideas. We engage, inspire, entertain and challenge audiences with ambitious performing and visual arts programs; we provide arts education programs that promote life-long learning to a diverse community, and we celebrate the essential power of the arts to illuminate our common humanity.

Art House seeks a Managing Producer to join the leadership team. The Managing Producer is responsible for helping guide multi-year artistic, administrative, and financial planning for the organization. The position reports to the Executive Director to support the full breadth of activity at the arts center. The position supports and helps lead Art House’s artistic, cultural, and community commitments as we open our new multidisciplinary arts space scheduled to be fully operational by the Fall of 2022 at 180 Morgan Street in downtown Jersey City. 

Position Overview:

  • The Managing Producer is a full-time position
  • The position may begin remotely, but will move to in-person in the Fall of 2022. Hybrid opportunities are available. Evening and weekend hours at times required
  • The applicant must be based within commuting distance of Jersey City. Drivers license and access to a car is a plus
  • The salary range is $55,000 - $60,000
  • Flexible PTO. No health benefits at this time; Art House is actively working towards adding health and retirement benefits for employees in 2023
  • $500 annual budget for professional development



  • Oversee contracts, permits, licenses, etc
  • Attend Board & Executive Committee meetings
  • Support the season planning process, managing communication with artists, internal departments, and other stakeholders to support calendaring, budgeting, planning, and artistic development
  • Program management and evaluation for current programs including the Art House Theater, JC Fridays, the Jersey City Comedy Festival, Your Move: NJ’s Modern Dance Festival, the INKubator New Play Program, the Art House Gallery, Le Diner en Blanc, and education programs 


    • Work with ED on grant writing, fundraising appeals, and donor database
    • Assist in annual campaigns and fundraisers (Hudson Gives, Snow Ball)
    • Strategize cultivation of donors w/ ED & Board of Trustees


    • Oversee and implement marketing and audience development strategies
    • Social media implementation
    • Graphics, E-Blast, and press release oversight


    • At least 5 years of professional arts administration experience (internships and work-study positions included)
    • Strong commitment to organization's mission and values
    • Excellent writing, research, and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a small team
    • Experience with Google Drive Suite, Canva, Shopify, Wix, All Social Media Platforms  
    • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects at the same time
    • A passion for the arts in a diverse community
    • Enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced, high-energy artistic environment
    • Self-motivated, creative, a sense of humor
