Statement about Virtual Access JC Fridays

Statement about Virtual Access JC Fridays

To the Art House Family,

A few people have reached out asking whether or not we are cancelling Virtual ACCESS JC Fridays scheduled for this Friday, June 5th.

We at Art House stand in solidarity with Black Lives Matter and we'll continue to elevate the voices of the most marginalized people amongst us so that this period in time is not just a moment, but a movement forward in history. That said, we will hold Virtual ACCESS JC Fridays as planned on Friday, June 5th beginning at 7:00 pm EST. This challenging moment in our nation’s history seems like the right time to celebrate artists whose voices need to be heard.

JC Fridays was created in 2006 to celebrate art in all its many forms and to spotlight the diversity within Jersey City, free of charge. The annual June ACCESS JC Fridays was established in 2017 to amplify art from artists with disabilities and to celebrate this underrepresented and oftentimes misrepresented group.
Please join us on Friday for an event that honors and celebrates the rich diversity of this city we call home.

With love and unity,
The Art House Staff and Board of Trustees
