Healing Voices Onstage: Submissions Open

Healing Voices Onstage: Submissions Open

Each year, the New Jersey Theatre Alliance partners with a number of member theatres to solicit submissions of playwriting, poetry, and prose reflecting themes of the caregiver experience. Theatres host workshops for writers to further develop their pieces, then weave selected works into an original theatre experience presented as a public reading by professional actors.

The 2022 Healing Voices project is a partnership between New Jersey Theatre Alliance, Art House Productions, McCarter Theatre Center, Premiere Stages, and Vanguard Theater Company.

This program is open to both professional caregivers and family caregivers. Short works of prose, poetry, and theatre will be considered, although some theatres may only accept specific genres. All entries must be original works and must not have previously been published. All pieces should reflect the theme of caregiving, in whatever way resonates with the writer.
