Art House Productions is proud to celebrate its 25th Anniversary Season.

Founded in 2001 in response to the tragic events of September 11, Art House was founded as a way to help heal and connect a devastated Jersey City community through art and dialogue. Over the past twenty-five years, the organization has grown into one of the region's leading multidisciplinary arts organizations, presenting more than 270 nights of programming annually at the Art House Performing and Visual Arts Center.

Twenty-five years later, as communities continue to navigate uncertainty, conflict, loss, and transformation, this exhibition asks artists to reflect on the enduring role of creativity as a force for resilience, connection, and hope.

Creation from Destruction, Art House Gallery's anniversary exhibition, explores the transformative power of art in response to tragedy, examining how artists process both personal and collective experiences through acts of creation.

This exhibition considers how destruction can become a catalyst for creativity. Selected works will emerge from experiences of grief, displacement, resilience, recovery, and renewal, revealing art's unique capacity to preserve memory, foster healing, and inspire hope.

Creation from Destruction celebrates the enduring strength of artists who find ways to move forward through their work. Across diverse materials, perspectives, and artistic practices, the exhibition highlights creation itself as an act of renewal and a testament to the human capacity to transform pain into meaning and devastation into possibility.

Exhibition Details

• Exhibition: September 11 – October 25, 2026
• Opening Reception: Friday, September 11, 2026 (JC Fridays), 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
• Closing Reception: Sunday, October 25, 2026, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Eligibility

• Open to all artists.
• All artistic mediums are welcome except artwork created using generative AI. AI-generated artwork will not be considered.
• Maximum dimensions:
  • Height: 10 feet
  • Width: 48 inches
• Video installations are welcome. Artists must provide all equipment necessary for a successful exhibition.
• There is no submission fee.
• Artwork sales are split 60% to the artist / 40% to Art House Productions.

Submission Guidelines

Please submit up to three images of your work to: gallery@arthouseproductions.org

Each image file must be named using the following format:

Artist Name – Title – Medium – Dimensions – Price

Images that are not properly labeled will not be considered. Please do not place identifying information directly on the image itself.

Submission Deadline
Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:59 PM

Late submissions will not be considered.

Notification of accepted artists will be sent on Monday, August 3, 2026.

Artwork Delivery
Accepted artwork may be delivered on the following dates:

• Saturday, August 22, 2026 | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
• Sunday, August 23, 2026 | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
• Saturday, August 29, 2026 | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
• Sunday, August 30, 2026 | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Artwork will not be accepted outside of these scheduled delivery times.

Artwork Pick-Up

The Closing Reception will take place on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM.

Artwork may be picked up beginning at 7:00 PM following the reception or during the following dates:

• Monday, October 26 – Wednesday, October 28, 2026
• 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM daily

Art House Productions is unable to provide storage beyond these dates. If you are unable to meet the scheduled delivery and pick-up times, please refrain from submitting work.
