The Art House Gallery presents "Landscapes & Meditation: Art to Quiet the Mind"
(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Art House Gallery will present the work of Lane O’Shea from February 8-16. Seen recently in Art House’s group exhibition, ‘Lost, Then Found’ as part of the 29th Annual Jersey City Art & Studio Tour in October 2019, Ms. O’Shea was chosen for a solo exhibition in the Art House Gallery that will display works from two complementary collections, the Meditation Collection and the Atmospheric Collection.
From Ms. O’Shea, "The Meditation Collection is inspired by my interest in mindfulness and meditation. I hope that the pieces will serve as a reminder to take a few moments each day to quiet the mind against challenges, to restore balance among the priorities of your day, and to be present in every moment. The Atmospheric Collection is inspired by my interest in the uncontrollable natural forces in our lives. I hope that the pieces will serve as a reminder to appreciate these forces, to enjoy their beauty, respect and wonder at their power, and to appreciate how we fit into the balance."
There will be an opening reception on Sunday, February 9th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. The show, which is curated by Andrea McKenna, runs until February 16th.
Gallery Hours will be Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. If you cannot attend during gallery hours, appointments are available. Ms. O’Shea is a self-taught artist with the fundamental elements of art training from local community colleges and art centers. She paints in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and also uses charcoal with pen and ink. She is also a trained photographer. She started exhibiting in 2013 and in 2018, launched Lane O’Shea Fine Art.
Art House Productions is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization committed to the development and presentation of the performing and visual arts in Jersey City, NJ. Art House Productions produces and presents original theater, events, visual arts, adult and youth arts education classes, festivals such as Your Move: New Jersey’s Modern Dance Festival and the Jersey City Comedy Festival, and the citywide arts festival, JC Fridays.
