Storytime for the whole family! Enjoy book readings and live music at Storytime with Dashawn. Author and teacher, Dashawn Simms, invites you to an afternoon of kindness and positivity. Dashawn will read from his two books: DJ's First Day and Kindness Looks Like Love. This program will feature a choir performance in between readings. Fun and educational for all ages.
After the show stick around for a post-show talkback with Dashawn. Both books will be on sale before and after the program. 
ABOUT DJ'S FIRST DAY
Starting school is a big moment for every child—full of new faces, new routines, and new emotions. DJ’s First Day gently follows DJ as he navigates his very first day of kindergarten, moving from uncertainty to confidence with the support of a caring teacher and the comfort of his family.
ABOUT KINDNESS LOOKS LIKE LOVE
Kindness Looks Like Love is a beautifully illustrated story that shows how love and kindness can shine in everyday family moments. Through the eyes of siblings DJ, Jalena, and baby Travis, readers will experience small but powerful acts of care—helping, sharing, comforting, and working together.
ABOUT DASHAWN SIMMS:
Da'Shawn Simms is resident of Jersey City, a teacher, father of a daughter and two boys, husband, author of two amazing children's books called DJ's First Day and Kindness Looks Like Love.
