7:30 PM Drum and a Tantrum A rock duo from New Jersey. From disheveled beginnings in 2013, Singer and keyboard player Julian Altbuch, and drummer and multi-instrumentalist Russell DeMoose abandoned their then 4 piece rock band to hone in on more dynamic song writing and composition process of a two piece percussion rock and blues. The roots rock sound is both classic and contemporary. Drum and a Tantrum compositions have won awards for original soundtracks and been featured in the trailer for the Showtime series City on a Hill .After two full length albums and a slew of singles, they are set to release their third studio album “DnT album Three”
8:20 PM Looms A staple of Americana indie rock in Brooklyn, NY for the past decade. Their sound, an ever evolving palette of shifting landscapes of the heart, is flanked by a wall of sound of guitars, keyboards and precision drumming. They've played countless shows and collaborated with members of Wilco in the past. The new EP 'The Dogs of Doubt' is due out October 17.
9:10 PM Black Force & The Docs Lead by Nas aka Knowledge. Black Force and the Docs blends Hip Hop - Soul - and Jazz into a well grooved flow.
10:00 PM The Jack Moves Comprised of vocalist and guitarist Zee Desmondes and musician Teddy Powell, the Newark, New Jersey-based duo linked up via a mutual affinity for hip-hop and funk and soul of the 60's, ’70s, and ’80s, which led them to form a group inspired by those sounds.

Dancing Tony presents TGIF
with performances by The Vaughns, Tea Eater, Waltzer, Cantations
September 22, 2023
Art House Productions, located at 345 Marin Boulevard, Jersey City, welcomes touring bands Tea Eater, Waltzer, NJ Favorites The Vaughns, and Bayonne/JC Homies Cantations.

Performance Schedule:
6:30 PM Doors Open
---
7:30 PM Cantations A four piece from Hudson County that specialize in post-punk song styles. Comprised of Nicholas Maratta (guitar/vox), Jeff Mckeon (bass/vox), Dan Nagano-Gerace (saxophone), and Ryan Treppedi (drums/vox), Cantations offers lyricism, a wide range of inspirations, and potent instrumentation to offer a joyful experience.
8:20 PM Waltzer Sophie Sputnik, professionally known as Waltzer, is a Chicago based singer songwriter and artist.
9:10 PM Tea Eater No one’s more fun in the post (or present) apocalypse than Tea Eater. Fronted by Tarra Thiessen of Gustaf and Sharkmuffin, the New York City-based art punk band’s made significant waves with frenetic performances, surf-rock-on-Neptune grooves and sucker punch tracks about hating the DMV. Their debut LP “Obsession,” produced and mixed by Drew Vandenburg (Bambara/Faye Webster/Of Montreal) brings a new whirring power to their sound, an invitation to shed your baggage and transmute your neurosis into something worth dancing about.
10:00 PM The Vaughns When it came to their second full-length, Anna Lies and Ryan Kenter wanted to do something special. And so the pair, who formed The Vaughns back in New Jersey in 2014, decided that instead of approaching it like a traditional record, they’d treat it like a mixtape. It’s actually an idea they had a number of years ago, but it was only more recently that all the pieces started falling into place. Including its peculiar title. And while titles don’t often mean very much, the synergy of this particular one (and the album as a whole) is worth pointing out.

Tickets: $12.00 online, $17.00 at the door (plus service fees)
