In an interview with Studs Terkel, Bob Dylan was asked about the lyrics to Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall. Dylan said “every line in that really is another song, you know, it could be used as a whole song, every single line".
This is the guiding thread of "The Roar of a Wave". Through the many styles and more than 600 songs of Songwriting Icon, Bob Dylan, as he turns 85 on May 24. Taking the verses and finding songs that match where Dylan’s been, or said he’d been. What he’d seen. Heard. Met. And What to do now, because it sure feels like A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall.
“The Roar of a Wave” is 2 hours of Bob Dylan’s words and music, inspired by one of his greatest songs.
