How did you get involved in theatre?
I grew up in Central Jersey and did my first show in 5th grade for a program called South Plainfield Summer Drama Workshop. It was a big deal because that meant I was good enough to be onstage with High Schoolers. My decision to be a perform professionally was probably made my Junior year of High School. My family didn't have a lot, so the decision to study the performing arts in college was not passionate. It was practical. My Dad needed proof that I had the talent and discipline to really make a go at it . Back then, New Jersey had a program called The Governor's School of the Arts. The program accepted 8 singers out of the entire state and I was one of them. After that, he was cautiously optimistic.
