PRO SERIES: Performance Rental Opportunities

OVERVIEW:

Performance Rental Opportunities serves the performance community by providing space, support, and subsidized theater rental rates for performances to non-profit companies and individual performing artists looking for longer term residencies. PRO programs are presented in The Theater, Art House’s flexible black box (97-seat max) performance space at 345 Marin Boulevard in Jersey City, NJ. 

Artists participating in the PRO series receive time for technical rehearsal and performances. Selected artists are able to rent space for a minimum of 4 performances (max 5) over the course of one weekend, and up to 20 performances over the course of 4 weekends. Technical and dress rehearsals take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays before 4pm. Performances take place Thursday-Sunday. Performances must begin either at 7:30pm or 8pm on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, and either 2:30pm or 3:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays pending length of show, and to be determined by Art House’s technical manager. Show run time is limited to 2 hours total including any intermissions. 

The Art House staff will review prospective PRO requests as they are submitted. If they have any follow-up questions, they may contact the prospective renter.

    2023 PRO RATES Performance Opportunity Project package is $6,000 per week. In addition, the renter is required to pay a $500 cleaning fee and a $500 damages deposit, which will be returned to the renter three weeks after the engagement, assuming no damages are incurred. If PRO Series is in The Theater for 4 weekends, cleaning fee is doubled to $1000 total. A $2000 non-refundable rental deposit is due at the contract signing, with $2500 due 60 days before the performance date and the remaining balance of $1,500 is due 30 days before the performance date.
