Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us!
For over a decade, Art House Productions has been a pioneering force in the Jersey City arts movement. Art House aims to support artists in the creation and presentation of new work, encourage artistic growth and experimentation across all mediums, and foster a widespread appreciation for the arts in our community.
Our programs include original plays, music events, video shooting/editing, acting classes, citywide festivals, and visual art exhibitions for the general public.
Do you want to get involved with the arts in your community? Are you looking for a fun, rewarding way to give back? Do you want to meet friendly, arts-minded people who live right here in your neighborhood?
Well you’ve come to the right place!
There are a lot of exciting ways to get involved with Art House Productions. We will add your email to our volunteer list and send out a message when we need help. You simply REPLY to the email and CONFIRM that you’ll be there!
Thanks for helping around the house!
This is our most frequent need and the most flexible, schedule-wise. House Volunteers come out on a weekday evening or weekend afternoon (we’ll email you the days/times a few days in advance) to help us get the space ready for an upcoming event.
There are a wide range of tasks here: organizing, cleaning, drilling, painting, sewing, moving furniture. You choose how long you stay and how strenuous your work is (you may prefer construction or you may prefer lighter tasks). If we are doing a bulk mailing, we’ll ask our House Volunteers to help stuff envelopes, stamp etc. We usually feed these volunteers, so if you like pizza, this one’s for you!
Event Volunteers help with our actual events (concerts, plays, art openings etc). This could mean working box office, serving food at concessions, running sound, or videotaping the event. This is the least flexible, schedule-wise, because we can’t run events without these volunteers. If you commit, please show up!
Event Volunteers get free admission to the event they are working, so if you like to “keep busy” while at an event, if you like to “make the magic happen,” or if you are a social butterfly who loves to attend events for free, this one’s for you!
FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS
Fundraising Committee Volunteers help with the preparations for our Snow Ball Gala. They also help generate new and exciting ideas for fundraising events. If you are an “idea” person who likes to see a project through from start to finish, this is for you! This is also a great area for those who would like to lend their skills and/or learn more about grant writing, proposal writing, grant research etc. Additional tasks may include securing silent auction items, ad sales, and corporate sponsorships.
Fundraising Committee Volunteers get free admission to the special events they work on, but they are also working the event itself. This is a good option for those who want to expand their skill set in the fundraising arena.
If you are a volunteer with a particular skill set not mentioned above (lighting designer, set builder, grant writer, scenic designer, seamstress etc) – please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know!
If you are a performing or visual artist (actor, musician, painter etc) – the best way to get involved is to join our mailing list because we send out emails when we have auditions or calls for work!
