YOUR MOVE is a dance photography competition & exhibition that will be presented at the Art House Productions Gallery in Jersey City, NJ. The exhibition will be on display to coincide with YOUR MOVE, New Jersey’s modern dance festival hosted by Art House Productions.
ABOUT ART HOUSE PRODUCTIONS and the YOUR MOVE Dance Festival Art House Productions (a 501c3 non-profit organization) aims to support artists in the creation and presentation of new work, encourage artistic growth and experimentation across all media, and foster a widespread appreciation for the arts in our region. Art House Productions is the parent organization to the Your Move Dance Festival, New Jersey’s longest-running annual modern dance event. The 6th Annual Your Move Dance Festival will be held at the DeBaun Center for the Performing Arts in Hoboken, NJ, October 22 – 29, 2015.
GRAND PRIZE includes a prize of cash and merchandise valued at $1,000
CERTIFICATES OF EXCELLENCE will be given in the categories of:
• Studio Dance Photography
• Location Dance Photography
• Dance Performance Photography
There will be one Grand Prize winner selected from the entire exhibition. The jury reserves the right to award multiple winners in the studio, location and performance categories or no award as they see fit.
JURORS: The jury will include an esteemed panel of professionals from the dance, dance publishing, and fine art fields.
Please include all information. Late, incomplete, or web link submissions will not be considered or responded to.
1. In the subject line of your email please type: “PHOTO CONTEST/Your Last Name” (For mailed entries include this info on the outside of the envelope.)
2. Up to 4 images ($30 by check; $32 with PayPal). Postal submissions should include 35mm slides or letter-sized color printouts (no DVDS or external drives). Do not send original artwork. Digital file submissions will only be accepted via email and must be in JPEG or PDF format, resolution set to 72 dpi, no larger than 800 X 800 pixels and no larger than 2MB. Please number images to correspond to Image List.
3. Image list. Numbered to correspond with your image submissions. Include image #, your name, title, date of work, medium, print size. You may include a brief description for each image, however this isn’t required.
ENTRY FEE*: $30 for up to 4 images by check ($32 on PayPal).

RETURN OF SUBMISSION MATERIALS: Include a SASE if you want your materials returned. Make sure there is sufficient postage. Materials without postage will not be returned.
ELIGIBILITY: The exhibition is open to all photographers, amateur, student, and professional.
EXHIBIT PRINTS: Finalists must have their work professionally printed and framed or mounted and ready to hang. Simple museum/gallery style presentation is suggested. Please no colored mats or frames. If your work requires a non-traditional display an installation shot must be provided with your submission. All work must be that which was presented during the jurying process, no substitutions.
NOTIFICATION: Finalists will be announced on September 4, 2015. Please make sure that you have opted-in for Constant Contact emails.
USE RIGHTS: The photographer retains all copyrights to their own images. Photographers whose submissions are chosen for the exhibition grant Art House Productions, LLC (AHP) the right to use their images for the purposes of promoting AHP programs, promoting exhibitions, and for display on the AHP website of current and past exhibitions. The photographer grants AHP the right to place images on social networks as well. The photographer must have secured model releases for all subjects in the photograph prior to submission. Those without releases may be disqualified.

** All dates are firm. It is the photographer’s responsibility to meet deadlines, drop off and pick up times. Artwork that is not picked up on the scheduled dates will be considered a donation to the gallery and will be disbursed as the gallery sees fit.
